Making my list and checking it twice.

December has proven to be a rather hectic month. Starting with a visit from my brother and mom, two craft shows, painting, shopping and.. getting sick :( . And its hard to believe that Christmas is right around the corner. There is still so much that I need to do this month!

December 5 & 6 were my big holiday craft shows. I think I did fairly well, considering that I really didnt have alot of time to prep for them because of the new (old) house.

December 5 started with a visit from my brother and his girlfriend, who got a quick tour of our barely moved in house before we ate a huge breakfast at Jan's Kitchen in Greendale. That was immediately followed by a craft show at Clark U(by immediate I mean, we got there and set up right when the show officially started. It was by far the quickest set up ever. Thanks to my great husband who was a big help with everything!). CUREfest was pretty good this year, I made about the same as last year and had just as much fun.

December 6th was stART at the Station and my mom drove up from CT to help. Thank goodness for wonderful moms, because I dont think I could do that show myself (John is of course busy with work on Sunday). The StART volunteers were awesome this year with unloading our car and wheeling everything to our spot. Setup seemed more stressful than it was - we were ready to go an hour early. But once the show started, there were mobs of people at the show.. and around my booth! We had alot of fun spending more time selling than chatting (though we got plenty of chatting in too!). I was very happy about the response to my soaps and scarves this year and plan to focus on making alot more of both for next year's shows. I was also pleased at the interest in my artwork and saw an increase in the sales of my prints and notecards, which was very exciting.

December 10th and 11th were shopping days. On the 10th I went to CT to shop with my mom. We had alot of fun visiting and she gave me some hints for my siblings and also helped pick out some outfits for my niece and nephews. Then on December 11th, John and I went to Natick to check out the shopping there. We only got a few gifts there, but we had alot of fun adventure at a place we never visited before. We spent most of the time at the mall and the plaza across the street and then made our way back to Worcester to finish up some shopping.

However, that evening I started to feel lousy. Now I am nursing a cold and not looking forward to going back to work. I was going to paint our living room on Saturday, but instead I literally slept all day. So I guess we are stuck decorating an unfinished room. Oh well, one more project for 2010! I still have to get some baking done. I am starting to feel better and hope my condition continues to improve so I can get busy baking : Homemade Somoas, Cranberry Shortbread, Chocolate Chunk & Cherry Cookies, and Mochachip Biscotti are on my short list right now, though it may change depending on how I am feeling and how much time I have to bake. I'll post some pictures and recipes once I start baking.

Happy Holidays.
